Muncie River Flood

In this unsteady flow model, we show a flooding event on November 10, 2021 of the Muncie River. A hydrograph was entered along with land cover data tied to Manning’s coefficients to show the 2D extents of the flooding.

By examining the 3D view, we can clearly see floodwaters backing up over the first half of the event. As we reach peak flow, catastrophic flooding is observed from bank overtopping in the North East corner of the bend. This view clearly demonstrates areas that would benefit greatly from a little risk mitigation.
